Welcome to Turkey, Istanbul!

Today we visited Asia! (For anyone who doesn't know, Istanbul is actually on two continents. There is part of the city that is in Europe and the other side that is in Asia.) We walked to the Sultanahmet Tram Stop. Then, we took the tram to the ferry. This took us across the water to Asia. The Asian side looked more like a modern city. It was very very busy and bustling with people. We walked deeper into the sea of buildings. We twisted and turned until we arrived at a cooly air conditioned restaurant. In the front of the restaurant, there was a woman preparing bread. I had a Turkish pancake, which I must say had very little resemblance to an American pancake. I also had potato dumplings, which were great! The dumplings are one of my favorite foods so far. After our meal, we weaved our way out of the maze and back to the ferry. Once returning to the European side, we stopped at Mado, an ice cream shop, for Rachel's 20th birthday. Many of us thought the ice cream would be very different from American ice cream. To our surprise, the texture and tase was much like American ice cream.

It was a nice day in Turkey. I'm excited to see what tomorrow holds. Keep us all in your prayers.

God bless!!
